Advanced LDI system solutions for various PCB multilayer applications including HDI boards, flexible circuits, and rigid-flex PCBs.
When to Choose LDI Technology
Traditional photolithography reaches its limits with trace widths below 0.127mm (5mil). LDI technology becomes essential when manufacturing PCBs with trace widths and spaces smaller than 0.127/0.127mm (5/5mil), enabling production of fine-line circuits down to 0.075/0.075mm (3/3mil) or even 0.05/0.05mm (2/2mil).
How Laser Direct Imaging Works
The LDI process positions a PCB with photo-sensitive surface under a computer-controlled laser. The system scans the board surface into a raster image, matches it to pre-loaded CAD/CAM design files, and uses laser light to directly create the required image on the board.
