Important Tips to Remember When Installing New Equipment
- Inspect the balance valve, linkage and transmission parts for wear and damage and replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Check the shock absorbers for leaks and perform a shock test. Faulty shock absorbers must be replaced.
- Once the air tube is disconnected, inspect it for cracks or other damage along its entire length. Replace worn parts.
- With the air spring removed, the other parts of the air suspension become more accessible. Inspect the frame hangers, trailing arm bushings, torsion bars, trailing arms and air spring brackets for wear or damage. Parts can also be replaced if necessary.
- Inspect the outer spring bellows air bearing for external damage, deformation, sharp edges and proper connections.
- Before installing a new unit, clean the air spring mounting plates to ensure they are properly installed in the suspension.
- Always use new connecting bolts for installation and pay attention to the tightening torque. Never use old bolts as they may fall off.
- Check the balance valve connection to ensure it is working properly. Under load, the linkage must move from the neutral position to the input position. This allows air to enter the spring, which returns the lever to the neutral position. This allows air to enter the spring, which returns the lever to the neutral position. This opens the bleed valve, allowing air to escape until the lever returns to the neutral position. Then check the ride level.
