This kind of pump motor is composed by shaded pole motor with piston pump. Shaded pole motor is a single-phase induction motor in small ratings made self-starting by flux displacement derived by means of a permanently short-circuited, high-resistance winding or loop encircling a fraction of the pole pitch or pole piece.
A piston pump contains an accurately machined die-casted piston moving in a cylinder normally fitted with inlet and outlet valves.
