Color Sorter (also known as color sorting machine, color sorter machine or optical sorting machine) operates by detecting color differences in granular materials using high-resolution CCD optical sensors to drive solenoid valves for material separation.

This technology is widely used across multiple industries including agricultural products, food processing, and mineral industries. Common applications include sorting rice, wheat, corn, peanuts, various beans, seeds, tea, herbs, dried vegetables, recycled plastics, salt, and ores.

Raw materials are loaded into the machine's top hopper, vibrated by the feeder system, and slide along material chutes into the observation zone within the sorting chamber. Under specialized lighting, CCD sensors receive composite light from the materials. Based on light intensity and color variations, the system generates output signals that activate solenoid valves (ejectors) to remove discolored grains into the rejection chamber, while acceptable materials continue into the finished product chamber.
