Albumin is one of the important plasma proteins. Under normal circumstances, albumin has a relatively large molecular weight and cannot pass through the basement membrane of the glomerulus. Therefore, the concentration of albumin in the urine of a healthy person is very low, not exceeding 20 mg/l. Therefore, it is also called 'urine microalbumin'. When a disease occurs, the glomerular basement membrane is damaged and the permeability changes. Any pathological change that can increase the permeability of the glomerular basement membrane can cause albumin excretion. Albumin levels continue to rise.
