The MZ5 series PTC thermistors are specifically designed for electronic ballasts and energy-saving lamps, converting hard starts to preheating starts with 0.4-2 second filament warm-up times to extend lamp life by over 4 times.

Operating Principle
When power is applied, the cold PTC thermistor provides low resistance for filament preheating. After 0.4-2 seconds, the device heats beyond its Curie point, resistance increases dramatically, and current shifts to create LC resonance for lamp ignition.
