Functional Purpose
Located on the exhaust elbow, the stack flue sensor prevents flue gas output from exceeding 500°F (±18°F). When this sensor fails, pool heater systems typically display error codes E05 or E06, indicating replacement is required.
Installation Guidelines
- Turn off filter pump and all electrical power to the heater
- Allow heater to cool for at least 30 minutes
- Remove upper left and upper right heater jackets
- Disconnect wires from old sensor
- Remove old sensor using ½" open end wrench (counter-clockwise)
- Install new sensor with RTV sealant, threading into exhaust elbow
Recommended tools: screwdriver and wrench. For optimal maintenance, consider replacing stack flue sensors in pairs.
