Metal oxide varistors are nonlinear resistors primarily composed of zinc oxide with various metal oxide additives. They feature bilateral and symmetrical V-I characteristics with exceptional peak current capability, making them ideal for transient voltage absorption, pulse noise suppression, and circuit voltage stabilization.
