The 14D561K is a 14mm disc metal oxide varistor designed for robust surge protection in industrial and commercial applications. This voltage-dependent nonlinear device provides excellent transient suppression performance with fast response times.
How Varistors Work
Varistors are voltage-dependent nonlinear devices with electrical behavior similar to back-to-back zener diodes. When exposed to high voltage transients, the varistor impedance changes dramatically from near open circuit to highly conductive, clamping transient voltages to safe levels while absorbing destructive energy to protect vulnerable circuit components.
