Operating Principle
The thermal cutoff utilizes a specially formulated nonconductive pellet that holds spring-loaded contacts closed during normal operation. When the predetermined temperature threshold is reached, the pellet melts, allowing the compression spring to relax and slide the contact away from the lead, permanently opening the circuit. Once activated, the thermal fuse must be replaced to restore circuit functionality.
