Usage Guidelines
- Operates at atmospheric pressures from 80 kPa to 106 kPa (altitude: 2000m to -500m)
- Operating voltage must be less than rated voltage
- Operating current must be less than rated current
- Avoid direct contact with ATCO body or lead wires when powered to prevent burns or electric shock
Replacement Information
ATCO is a non-repairable product. For safety, replace with an equivalent ATCO from the same manufacturer using identical mounting procedures.
Storage Requirements
Store in controlled environments - avoid high temperature, high humidity, or corrosive gas conditions. Use within 1 year of receipt to maintain solderability of lead wires.
Installation Guidelines
Temperature Considerations
- Use dummy ATCO with thermocouple to determine proper temperature
- Test terminal product to ensure ambient temperature doesn't exceed Tm of ATCO
- Mount at locations with even temperature distribution
- Ensure surface temperature remains below holding temperature
- Prevent burning or overheating of seal or body
Mechanical Requirements
- Avoid locations with severe vibration
- Ensure sufficient lead wire length to prevent pressing, tensile, or twisting
- Protect seal and body from damage during installation
Technical Glossary
TCO (Thermal-Link): Non-resettable device that opens circuit once when exposed to excessive temperature.
ATCO (Alloy Thermal-Link): Thermal link using alloy as the thermal element.
Tf (Rated Functioning Temp): Temperature causing conductivity change with detection current ≤10mA.
Th (Holding Temp): Maximum temperature maintaining conductivity at rated current for 168 hours.
Tm (Maximum Temp Limit): Manufacturer-specified temperature limit maintaining mechanical/electrical properties.
Ir (Rated Current): Maximum current the ATCO can safely carry and interrupt.
Ur (Rated Voltage): Maximum voltage the ATCO can safely carry and interrupt.
