Usage Guidelines
  • Operates at atmospheric pressures from 80 kPa to 106 kPa (altitude: 2000m to -500m)
  • Operating voltage must be less than rated voltage
  • Operating current must be less than rated current
  • Avoid direct contact with ATCO body or lead wires when powered to prevent burns or electric shock
Replacement Information
ATCO is a non-repairable product. For safety, replace with an equivalent ATCO from the same manufacturer using identical mounting procedures.
Storage Requirements
Store in controlled environments - avoid high temperature, high humidity, or corrosive gas conditions. Use within 1 year of receipt to maintain solderability of lead wires.
Installation Guidelines
Temperature Considerations
  • Use dummy ATCO with thermocouple to determine proper temperature
  • Test terminal product to ensure ambient temperature doesn't exceed Tm of ATCO
  • Mount at locations with even temperature distribution
  • Ensure surface temperature remains below holding temperature
  • Prevent burning or overheating of seal or body
Mechanical Requirements
  • Avoid locations with severe vibration
  • Ensure sufficient lead wire length to prevent pressing, tensile, or twisting
  • Protect seal and body from damage during installation
Technical Glossary
TCO (Thermal-Link): Non-resettable device that opens circuit once when exposed to excessive temperature.
ATCO (Alloy Thermal-Link): Thermal link using alloy as the thermal element.
Tf (Rated Functioning Temp): Temperature causing conductivity change with detection current ≤10mA.
Th (Holding Temp): Maximum temperature maintaining conductivity at rated current for 168 hours.
Tm (Maximum Temp Limit): Manufacturer-specified temperature limit maintaining mechanical/electrical properties.
Ir (Rated Current): Maximum current the ATCO can safely carry and interrupt.
Ur (Rated Voltage): Maximum voltage the ATCO can safely carry and interrupt.
