NTC (Negative temperature coefficient of resistance) thermistor is a semiconducting material, having a characteristic that electric resistance decreases when temperature increases. This characteristic makes the materials system as a sensor to measure the absolute temperature, as well as other sensors that utilizes temperature difference or variation. Typically NTC thermistor is the most popular and economic solution for various fields such as home appliance, automotive, telecommunication, computer, medical instruments, industrial sites, etc.
MF55 series is a film type thermistor, composed of a NTC chip soldered in a thin lead frame, then insulated with polymer film, for low profile application. The maximum thickness is only 0.6mm (typically 0.9mm max). Film type thermistor can measure the surface temperature more efficiently, or can be installed inside a tiny gap.
