Product description
Ferro silicon alloy is mainly used in the manufacture of steel and cast iron and produce fine quality steel. Ferro Silicon is used to remove oxygen from steel for better quality and durability. Our clients also use Ferro Silicon to manufacture pre-alloys like Magnesium Ferro Silicon (FeSiMg). It is used to modify melted malleable iron.
Product Application
(1) Used as a reductant in ferroalloy production. Not only the chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen is very strong, and the carbon content of high silicon ferrosilicon is very low. So high silicon ferrosilicon (or siliceous alloy) is in ferroalloy industry are frequently used in low-carbon ferroalloy production a reducing agent.
(2) used as deoxidizer in the steel industry. In order to guarantee the quality of steel, Add a certain amount of silicon in the steel, can significantly improve the strength, hardness and elasticity of steel . At the same time improve the steel quality, reduce cost, save with iron . Especially for continuous casting molten steel deoxidized requirements, the practice has proved that not only meet the requirements of steelmaking deoxidization, but also with the desulfurization etc.
(3) in the cast iron industry as a nucleating agent and spheroidizing agent. Cast iron is a kind of important modern industrial metal materials, it is much cheaper than steel, easy to melt refining, with excellent casting performance ,and it is far better than steel. Especially the nodular cast iron, its mechanical performance at or near the steel mechanical property. In nodular iron production, ferrosilicon inoculants is a kind of important graphite precipitation (help) and spheroidizing agent.
