NPR Piston Ring Set Installation Instructions
I. Install Piston Rings in Order
- Thoroughly clean ring grooves of piston
- Fit oil control ring followed by compression rings in ascending order using ring tool
- Ensure rings are fitted with marked faces upward toward top of piston
II. Confirm Proper Ring Installation
- Verify rings move freely without jamming in piston grooves
- Ensure ring gaps are not positioned in line with piston pin axis or thrust
III. Piston Installation with Rings
- Always use proper installation tool when inserting into cylinder
Special NPR NIFFLEX Oil Ring Instructions
- Fit expander into ring groove by hand, ensuring ends butt together
- Hold expander at butt ends with thumb
- Fit upper rail with gap approximately 45° to the left
- Fit lower rail with gap approximately 45° to the right of expander ends
