Product Introduction

The “Van Veen Grab” is a bedload sampler, deployed on a rope or winch, depending on the size of the sampler. During the descent to the bottom the two buckets are held in open position by the means of a hook. When the grab hits the bottom the tension on the hook is released and the hook is disengaged. Upon lifting the buckets dig into the bed of the water body and close.

Applications

Widely used for the sampling of sediments, bottoms, sludge and other substances in lakes, rivers, ponds, shallow seas etc.

Usage

1. ​Determine sampling place.
2. Stretch grab bucket, put support rob into buckle and pull rope closer, then the grab bucket will stay open condition.
3. Put the stretched grab bucket into river slowly, release rope while contacting the river bottom, then the support rod will detach with buckle under gravity effect.
4. Lift rope by strength and the stretched grab bucket will close slowly. Lastly the bottom sediment will be collected inside grab bucket while closing.
