The mixture is fed continuously through the feeding pipe and distributor into the first stage basket. Under centrifugal force, most mother-liquor passes through the sieves into the liquor collecting casing for discharge. The first stage basket rotates and reciprocates, pushing the product cake into the second stage basket where it receives additional centrifugal force to achieve desired humidity before continuous discharge.
