Rigid Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) IOL

We offer our client PMMA Intraocular Lens and PMMA UV Intraocular Lens . Thsese Lens are designed for implanting the eye by replacing the existing crystalline lens. The first IOL, implanted in 1949, was made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). It is a rigid, nonfoldable material with less than 1% water content.So the safety and stability of the PMMA have been verified. Penetration by aqueous humor has been noted to cause small vacuoles within the lens optic. This “glistening” phenomenon is rarely seen with rigid PMMA IOL.

Rigid Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) IOL Design features:

1- The IOL produced by our company is made of PMMA, allowing the good flexibility of the loops,which can be bent to the optical part of the IOL, making the IOL implanted easily inside the capsular bag.

2- The 10°angle of the haptic allows the lens to have a complete contact with the posterior side of the lens capsule.

3- The thin edge of the IOL reduces the edge glare in a large degree.

4- The haptic are designed to maintain stability of lens implant in the eye, which keeps the IOL centered in the optical field.

5- The IOL produced by our company can filter the ultraviolet rays effectively, and the rate of the visible light is greater than 90%.
