In nature, all objects with temperatures above absolute zero (-273℃) radiate infrared rays. By measuring the infrared radiation temperature difference between targets and their background using an infrared camera detector, different infrared images (thermal images) can be obtained.
Infrared radiation emitted by targets enters the thermal detector's sensing range. The infrared detector converts radiation signals of varying intensity into corresponding electrical signals, which are then amplified and processed to form infrared images visible to the naked eye.
Uncooled infrared focal plane detectors operate at room temperature without requiring Integrated Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDCA) devices. They offer advantages including fast startup, low power consumption, small size, light weight, long lifespan, and low cost. While sensitivity may not match cooled detectors, their cost-effectiveness makes them ideal for broader applications.
