Recently, a client from Trinidad and Tobago consulted a large-scale government project - 700m3 per day Seawater Desalination Plant, they are trying to supply 2 villages with a consistent drinking water supply,

In order to make the suitable proposal for the seawater desalination plant

The client take water sample to get a water quality report, and water quality parameters as below:

2.Seawater Desalination plant to supply drinking water Important Q&A Between Us

Client: RO system that can utilize a gravity feed to obtain pressure to conduct reverse osmosis (Does not use a pump to pressurize system but the a height difference)

Reply:Although your idea of using the height difference to provide pressure for the RO inlet water is good,but the pressure is uncertain, and the RO membrane needs to be pumped by feed waterpump for backwashing

Client: Able to give at leat 50% recovery rate

Reply:Seawater recovery rate:40%-50%

Client: Has material that has a long lifespan in a corrosive environment.

Reply:About anti-corrosion materials we'll use SUS316L or Duplex steel bracket for the pump body and use carbon steel for frame

Client: also is pretreatment included in this set up?we will like to use nano filtration

Reply: After discussion, our engineers think that Nano is not suitable for seawater desalination pretreatment, so we’ll choose ultrafiltration as the pretreatment.Okay?

Client:Does this system have a 3 train setup where production can still occur while repairing one RO train?and are the configurations for the RO system series or parallel?

Reply:Our engineer will design 3 sets of RO systems, each with a water output of 11.7m3/hr,One Ro membrane vessal with 6 membranes(It's series connection),Each set of four membrane vessals will be connected in parallel.

Client:Also does this system have a Energy recovery device in it?

Reply:Yeah,the device can save a lot of electricity,We will add it to the large system.
