How do you remove gouges from stainless steel?
 
Gouges and deep scratches are more challenging to deal with. Use 400 to 600 grit sandpaper and a rubbing compound. However, you should also consider a repair kit from the same manufacturer as the appliance is from.
The fine powder used in this painting method is electrostatically charged, which is what attracts it to metal surfaces prior to the curing process. If a metal or material can’t hold an electrostatic charge, the powder won’t be able to affix itself to the surface, and it won’t be able to be powder coated. Additionally, a metal will need to be able to withstand the high temperature levels that are used during the curing process in order to be a good candidate for powdered painting.
