Ferro Chrome Description

Ferrochrome is an iron alloy of chromium and iron. It is an important alloy additive in steelmaking. Ferrochromium is divided into
high carbon ferrochromium (containing 4~8% carbon), medium carbon ferrochromium (containing 0.5~4% carbon), low carbon
ferrochromium (containing 0.15~0.50% carbon), micro carbon ferrochromium (containing 0.06% carbon), ultramicro carbon
ferrochromium (containing less than 0.03% carbon), and silicon chromium alloy, ferrochromium nitride, etc.
The lower the carbon content of ferrochrome, the more difficult treatment and smelting, power consumption is also large, high
cost, carbon content below 2% ferrochrome, suitable for smelting stainless steel, acid steel and other low carbon chromium steel.
Iron chromium containing more than 4% carbon, commonly used for refining ball bearing steel and automotive parts steel, etc.
Ferrochrome containing about 5% chromium, can be used as alloy iron transfer chromium agent.
