Description

Calcined coke is the product of petroleum coke calcined at high temperature. The calcination of petroleum coke is an important part of the carbon-making process. High-temperature calcination is carried out in isolation from air to eliminate volatiles and moisture from the raw material. In the calcination process, a series of deep changes occur in the structure and elemental composition of various carbonaceous raw materials, thereby improving their physical and chemical properties, and then obtaining calcined coke.

From the appearance of calcined coke, it is a kind of coke with an irregular shape and porous structure. After calcination, the pores of the carbon particles are more transparent, with a ferrous metallic luster, and more than 98.5% of the elements are carbon.
