Tungsten powder is dissolved in a mixed acid of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and melts with a mixture of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate. Slightly soluble in nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and aqua regia; insoluble in water, hydrofluoric acid, and potassium hydroxide.
