What is ferrotitanium used for?
It is used as a cleaner for steel in the steelmaking process; titanium has a high reactivity with sulfur, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen, forming insoluble compounds and isolating them in the slag, thus used for deoxidation, and sometimes also for desulfurization and denitration.
