Ferrosilicon nitride is a mixed substance with Si3N4 as the main component, along with dispersed iron, non-ferrosilicon nitride and a few other chemical components. Ferrosilicon nitride used for ironmaking is gray-white granular material. Powdered ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used in the plugging mud of large blast furnaces, and a little is used in trench materials or other amorphous refractory insulation materials. Granular ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used in oriented silicon steel or other steel grades that use nitrogen compounds to improve compressive strength (such as HRB400 construction steel bars).
