Smelting Process: Pyrometallurgical or Hydrometallurgical Methods
The smelting stage involves two main methods:

Pyrometallurgical Smelting:
This method involves placing the manganese ore and a reducing agent (such as coke or coal) into a high-temperature furnace. The high temperatures trigger a chemical reaction that extracts metallic manganese from the ore. -
Hydrometallurgical Smelting:
In this method, the ore undergoes a leaching process, where it is treated with an acidic or alkaline solution to dissolve manganese. The resulting manganese-containing solution is then subjected to chemical reduction, which converts it into manganese oxide powder.
