During the smelting of high-carbon ferrochrome, its alloy silicon content actually only represents the average silicon content of the molten iron accumulated in the lower part of the furnace during the interval between two iron tappings, and the metal silicon content in different areas of the furnace during the smelting process is not the same.

③ Area of ​​unstable alloy silicon content: refers to the iron accumulation layer at the bottom of the furnace. For the same electric furnace within a certain time range, the silicon content of this layer of molten iron is basically stable, but due to the different types of ore, the silicon content changes with time and the thickness of the iron accumulation layer, so it is called an unstable silicon content area.
