Ferrosilicon is a silicon alloy made by smelting iron in an electric furnace with coke, scrap steel, and quartz (or silicon dioxide) as raw materials. Silicon and Oxygen have a strong affinity.meanwhile low carbon content in high silicon ferrosilicon. Therefore, high - silicon ferrosilicon (or silicon alloy) is a reducing agent commonly used in the production of low-carbon ferroalloys in the ferroalloy industry.
