Ferro Sillicon Slag Description

Silicon Slag is a kind of mixture which contains the main content Silicon (45%~95%) and other components such as C, S, P, Al, Fe,Ca.Silicon slag is a by-product from the productive process of silicon metal, mainly used in steel making, casting and so on. Silicon slag can also be very good to improve furnace temperature, increase the flow of molten iron slag effectively.

1. Used as deoxidizer and alloying agent in steelmaking industry.

2. Silicon slag is used for steel slag refining pig iron, ordinary casting, etc. Silicon slag can well increase the furnace temperature, reduce the use of coke, increase smelting output and save smelting costs. It also increases the fluidity of molten iron, which is conducive to slag removal and impurity removal, increases the grade of pig iron, and improves the toughness of cast iron.

3. In the process of stainless steel manufacturers using electric furnaces for refining stainless steel, silicon slag is used as a reducing agent to improve efficiency and output.
