Ferro Sillicon Slag Description
Silicon metal slag (also called silicon metal dross or silicon metal scrap) is a by-product in the production of high-purity silicon metal. The surface of molten silicon is covered with slag containing Fe, Al, Ca and other impurities, and silicon slag products with different silicon contents are generated through the density separator.
Application of Silicon Slag:
1. Used as deoxidizer and alloying agent in steelmaking industry.
2. Silicon slag is used for steel slag refining pig iron, ordinary casting, etc. Silicon slag can well increase the furnace temperature, reduce the use of coke, increase smelting output and save smelting costs. It also increases the fluidity of molten iron, which is conducive to slag removal and impurity removal, increases the grade of pig iron, and improves the toughness of cast iron.
3. In the process of stainless steel manufacturers using electric furnaces for refining stainless steel, silicon slag is used as a reducing agent to improve efficiency and output.
