Alloy 20 Wire Mesh Introduction:
Alloy 20 wire mesh is crafted from a nickel-iron-chromium superalloy with molybdenum and copper additions, offering:
Primary Composition:
35% Nickel (corrosion resistance)
20% Chromium (oxidation resistance)
3.5% Molybdenum + 2% Copper (acid resistance)
Stabilized with Niobium (Cb) – Prevents carbide precipitation
Key Standards:
ASTM B473 (Alloy 20 Bar & Wire)
ASME SB473 (Pressure Vessel Applications)
Alloy 20 wire mesh delivers optimum performance-to-cost ratio for:
✔ Sulfuric/phosphoric acid systems (where stainless steels fail)
✔ Moderate chloride environments (less severe than seawater)
✔ Applications requiring both corrosion resistance and fabricability
