The 6061 aluminum bar is a heat treated aluminum that has been fused with silicon and magnesium. This product is widely used for various types of applications in many different industries. This grade of alloy can be easily welded and machined. It has a 90% machinability rating and has a high finish once completed. Cold working can be easily performed when 6061 aluminums are in the annealed condition. At this point, standard methods of cold working be used for deep drawing, tapping, cutting, drilling, bending and stamping.
