Optical fiber instrument Mini OTDR
Optical Time Domain Reflectometer(OTDR) is a sophisticated optoelectronic integrated instrument made by using ayleigh scattering and backscattering produced by Fresnel reflection when light is transmitted in optical fiber.
OTDR can measure the length of optical fiber, transmission attenuation of optical fiber, joint attenuation and fault location.
It first sends a signal to the optical fiber, and then observes what information is returned from a certain point. This process is repeated, and the results are averaged and displayed as a trace, which depicts signal strength and weakness throughout the length of fiber.
