Membrane Switch Construction
Membrane switches consist of two flexible printed circuits separated by a spacer. When pressed, the circuits contact through spacer holes to complete the circuit. The graphic overlay, typically made of clear polycarbonate or polyester, is reverse-printed to protect against wear, solvents, and abrasion.
