As I write this, I’m sitting two feet away from a noisy window AC unit blasting cool air on a hot day, and its volume is attenuated dramatically with the WF-1000XM4’s ANC on. Earlier, in a busy Brooklyn park with a bustling flea market and a dog run nearby, the earphones eliminated all but the loudest barks and distant car horns.
