Ideally suitable for small scale boardrooms and meeting rooms, Large Meeting Room, Large lecture seminar.
The Yeti X can record up to 48kHz/24-bit audio, with a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz—this frequency range also applies to the internal headphone amp. In Garageband, the mic was recognized immediately and we were up and recording in no time. Since there's no DSP, it's important to get a solid clean level using the gain knob. The LED metering makes this easy, but relying on your ears more than your eyes is important here—it's possible to overload the mic's capsules. That said, we found it easy enough in all four patterns to get a clean, clear signal.As mentioned, the Yeti X also ships with recording software, a new platform called BlueVoice that requires Logitech's G Hub and/or Blue's Sherpa software in order to operate. BlueVoice includes useful presets and vocal effects for Twitch streaming, podcasting, and music recording, with names like Broadcaster 1, Crisp and Vintage, and AM Radio. You can flip through these and apply them to a recording to test them all outThe back panel houses the mic pattern button—tapping it switches between cardioid, figure-8, omnidirectional, and stereo patterns. These are the same patterns that are available on the Yeti, but the Yeti X uses four capsules to acheive these modes rather than three. It's unfortunately easy to touch the mic and switch patterns inadvertently when moving it, but best practices dictate that you shouldn't really touch a mic while recording anyway, so this is probably not something that will cause real issues during a session.
