ASME A234 Wpb Carbon Steel Short Radius 45 Degree Elbow
A short radius elbow is an elbow with a radius of curvature equal to 1 times the diameter of the pipe; also known as 1D. The radius of curvature of the elbow is equal to 1 times the diameter of the pipe. Intuitively, the short radius elbow is much shorter than the long radius elbow, and the bending radius of the elbow is very short. Long-radius elbows are the most commonly used, and generally default to long-radius elbows. Long-radius elbows will be used where the pressure is high or the flow rate is high. If the resistance requirements of the solid conveying pipeline are strict, a larger radius elbow should be used. The short radius is generally used in low pressure fluid or where the elbow is limited. If there is no conditional restriction or it is not specified in the contract, the long radius elbow is preferred.
