1.4462 Seamless Duplex Pipe Chemical Industry ASTM A789 UNS S31803 Cold Drawn
Uns S31803 Seamless Tube/ 1.4462 Seamless Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe
UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 duplex stainless steel is designed to combine improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, crevice corrosion and high strength when compared with other stainless alloys
Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462duplex alloy resists chloride environments and sulphide stress corrosion
Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 is also roughly double the strength of standard austenitic stainless steels
These attributes mean that Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 can be used successfully as an alternative to standard stainless steel specifications in applications where higher strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking is required
ASME SA789/SA789M ( ASTMA789/A789M )

The dual-phase UNS S31803 is the most common dual-phase brand in the market and has high mechanical strength. Widely used in the oil and gas industry, hydroelectric power, pressure vessels, pulp and equipment in the paper industry, paper industry, structural components and chemical tankers. Due to embrittlement, the alloy is not suitable for use at temperatures above 300°C.
About UNS S31803
UNS S31803/2205 is a duplex steel grade with ferrite - austenite microstructure. The alloy is composed of about 40-50% ferrite in the annealed state. The duplex microstructure has high ferritic strength while retaining austenitic corrosion resistance. It is not uncommon to use this metal as a practical solution to chloride-induced stress cracking, the Achilles heel of stainless steel.
Compared with 317L stainless steel, it has excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to sea water and most concentrations of sulfuric acid. In addition, it is resistant to sulfide stress corrosion cracking (acid gas environment).
The high quality and performance of UNS S32205 is widely attributed to high levels of chromium as well as nitrogen and molybdenum.
