1. Primary Function & Role

This data cable is the "nerve line" connecting the side control box (mounted on both sides of the screed to receive sensor signals) with the main controller or central control unit.

Signal Transmission: It is responsible for transmitting real-time measurement data from key components like non-contact ultrasonic/laser sensors, grade sensors, and cross-slope sensors.

Command Relay: Simultaneously, it relays adjustment commands (e.g., raise/lower) from the main controller to the solenoid valves or actuators within the side control box.

Power Supply: It typically also provides operating power to the side control box and its connected sensors.

2. Physical Features & Connectors

Multi-Core Shielded Cable: The cable contains multiple independent wires (for power, different signals, ground, etc.) and an external braided shield. This is crucial for resisting strong electromagnetic interference on the jobsite (from engines, hydraulic systems, etc.) and ensuring signal stability.

Specialized Connectors: Both ends usually feature industrial-grade multi-pin circular metal connectors or robust rectangular connectors. They are designed to be dustproof, waterproof (with an IP rating), and shock-resistant to withstand harsh operating conditions.

Custom Length: The length is customized based on the paver model and the installation location of the side control box.
