The austenitic grades, also known as the chromium nickel types, are usually non- magnet, an easy task to weld and form, and gives excellent resistance from corrosion and good creep amount of resistance. Austenitic grades are nonhardenable by heat treating. Cold working raises potency and efficacy. Typically the most popular austenitic grades are type 304 and type 316L.
