BGO (Bi4Ge3O12) is an oxide type scintillation material. It has high atomic number, high density, good mechanical strength, non-hygroscopic, no cleavage. Extremely high density makes these crystals very suitable for the detection of natural radioactivity. BGO can be machined to various shapes and geometries.
