Our forged NaI(Tl) crystals are formed through deformation under a certain temperature and pressure. After the deformation of the crystals, due to the continuous interaction and proliferation of lattice dislocations, dislocation multilateralization and subdivision are formed. The grain structure improves the performance of the original single crystal. The forged NaI(Tl) crystal has not only changed its geometric shape, but also has much better mechanical strength and thermal shock resistance than single crystals. At the same time, the optical scintillation properties such as transmittance and luminous efficiency of the material can be compared with the original single crystal, but the workability has been significantly improved. In addition, it is easier to process a variety of complex geometric shapes and large-sized crystals, such as elongated shapes, hexagons, rectangles, etc., through the forging craftmanship. It has been widely used in oil logging, geological exploration, space research, and nuclear medicine.
