Electroplated diamond mounted points for durable rotary tools
Electroplated diamond mounted points are compact, durable rotary tools with a surface layer of exposed diamonds plated onto a metal head. For cast iron work they provide aggressive, precise cutting for deburring, detail grinding, small-profile shaping and touch-up repairs with low loading and good finish. They’re best used for light-to-moderate removal and fine-detail work rather than bulk material removal; proper grit choice, coolant, and gentle technique maximize life and results.
Use light, steady pressure; let the diamond cut — do not force.
Use coolant (liquid or air blast) to remove swarf and reduce heat; for handheld work, compressed air and frequent pauses help.
Choose the correct grit and shape for the feature: coarse for shaping, fine for finishing.
Run at manufacturer-recommended RPMs for the mounted point diameter; smaller points require higher surface speeds.
Replace the point when cutting efficiency drops or plating shows visible wear—continued use wastes time and risks poor surface quality.
