Product Description
Loading: EPS beads are loaded into the hopper of the pre-expander machine.
Pre-expansion: The beads are fed into the steam chamber, where they are exposed to steam. The steam causes the beads to expand as the heat softens the polystyrene and the pentane gas inside the beads vaporizes, creating a cellular structure within the material. This initial expansion process is called pre-expansion.
Aging: After pre-expansion, the expanded beads are transferred to an aging silo or chamber, where they are allowed to cool and stabilize for a certain period. This aging process helps to achieve consistent expansion and reduce the moisture content of the beads.
Drying: If needed, the pre-expanded beads may undergo a drying process to remove any remaining moisture.
