Description
The C-shaped tube is used for the lower measurement ranges up to about 60 bar (900 psi, or 6000 kPa). For higher measuring ranges spiral or helical Bourdon tubes are used. A Bourdon tube is usually flattened on one or both sides. This allows the tube to lose some of its rigidity which makes it easier to uncoil when pressurized.
