Principle of optical power meter:

The basic principle of the optical power meter is to convert the incident light into an electrical signal through some ways for measurement. A typical optical power meter consists of a receiver, detector, amplifier, and display. After receiving the optical signal, the receiver converts the optical signal into an electrical signal through the detector and amplifies the output, and finally displays the power value on the display.

The common unit of optical power meters is the optical power unit watt (W) or milliwatt (mW), but decibels (dBm) can also be used as a reference unit. The accuracy and measurement range of optical power meters will vary depending on the model and brand, so the selection and use of optical power meters need to be considered according to the specific application needs.
