Ultrasonic level meter is a digital level meter controlled by microprocessor. In the measurement of ultrasonic pulse from the sensor (transducer), the sound wave reflected by the surface of the liquid is received by the same sensor, through the piezoelectric crystal converted into electrical signals, and the time between the transmission and reception of the sound wave to calculate the distance from the sensor to the surface of the liquid to be measured. Due to the use of non-contact measurement, the measured medium is almost unlimited, can be widely used in a variety of liquid and solid material height measurement.

Ultrasonic Level Transmitter Measurement Principle
 

The working principle of ultrasonic level meter is that the ultrasonic transducer (probe) sends out high frequency pulse sound wave when it meets the measured object level (material) surface is reflected and converted back to reflect echo is received by the transducer into an electrical signal. The propagation time of sound waves is proportional to the distance from the surface of the object. The relation between acoustic transmission distance S and sound speed C and sound transmission time T can be expressed by a formula :S=C×T/2.

 

As the transmitted ultrasonic pulse has a certain width, the reflected wave overlapped with the transmitted wave in a small area close to the transducer, so the distance value cannot be recognized and measured. This area is called the measurement blind spot. The size of the blind area is related to the type of ultrasonic level meter.

 

The probe part emits ultrasonic wave, ultrasonic wave encounter with the air density difference is larger than the medium will be reflected, reflected wave is received by the probe part, the probe to the liquid (object) surface distance and ultrasonic time is proportional to:
