Certified Marine Rope (CCS/BV/ABS) High Strength 8 Strand PP Braided Rope for Heavy Duty Mooring & Towing
Product Description
8-strand PP marine rope is a synthetic rope constructed by braiding eight strands of polypropylene monofilament or multifilament fibers . It is a hollow-braided rope , which is a common construction for marine dock lines. The rope is designed for various marine and industrial uses, including mooring, towing, and fishing operations . It is known for being lightweight and is available in a range of diameters, commonly from as small as 14mm up to 160mm.

- Superior 8-Strand Construction: Excellent strength-to-weight ratio with superior abrasion resistance
- Heavy-Duty PP Material: Durable, rot-resistant polypropylene with chemical resistance
- Permanent Buoyancy: Floats on water for safer handling and reduced entanglement risks
- High Strength & Low Stretch: Reliable holding power for demanding marine applications
- Weather & UV Resistant: Withstands harsh marine environments including saltwater and sun exposure
The performance of 8-strand PP rope makes it suitable for a variety of demanding marine environments.
Floats on Water: Thanks to its low density (approximately 0.91 g/cm³), which is less than that of water, this rope floats . This is a critical safety and operational feature for many water-based activities.
Strength and Elongation: It offers good strength, with a breaking load that can range from several tons to over 100 tons, depending on the diameter . The elongation at break is typically in the range of 15-18% .
Environmental Resistance:
Chemical Resistance: It has good resistance to chemicals, oils, and gasoline .
UV Resistance: It generally offers good resistance to ultraviolet (UV) light .
Water Absorption: It has very low water absorption (around 0.1%), meaning its performance remains consistent in both wet and dry conditions .
Durability: The rope is known for its good abrasion resistance and is designed to be durable and long-lasting . It is also resistant to mildew and rot .
Material Limits: The melting point of polypropylene is around 165°C , and its recommended maximum working temperature is about 70°C .
