Sucker rod roller guide is a kind of accessory used to connect sucker rods, and it is a tubing or solid bar of carbon or alloy steel of which two ends are machined as male thread or female thread. Also, a few wheels will be assembled in the hole of the bar body. When the wheeled rod centralizer works, the wheels can roll on the tubing wall to prevent the sucker rod from wearing.
They centralizer the rod string in the tubing, and the rolling action of the wheels inside the tubing walls during stroking reduces friction and wear caused by the rods slapping or rubbing the tubing. With proper use of the Wheeled Rod Guides and effective chemical treatment programs, several operators have extended by an average of four times the operating periods between having to “pull and service” wells because of sucker rod or tubing wear.
Wheels are set vertically and at 45-degree angles to each other, along the axis of the Sucker rod roller guides body.
Application
Sucker rod centralizers or rod guides keep the rod and couplings away from the tubing to eliminate the internal tubing wear, also can keep paraffin off the tubing as paraffin scrapers. The sucker rod guides minimize costly metal-to-metal contact between the sucker rods and tubing. Even when the tubing buckles during upstrokes, the guides help prevent contact between the rods and tubing.
