What is the Mud Pump Crosshead?
The crosshead assembly is a key part of the power end of the mud pump. When the crosshead is working, it slides in the upper and lower guide plates and pushes the middle rod to transmit the power to the hydraulic end. The upper and lower guide plates are part of the crosshead assembly, the crosshead slides in the upper and lower guide plates, and the upper and lower guide plates function as slideways.
* The crosshead slides in the upper and lower guide plates, pushing the extension rod to transfer the power to the fluid end. One end of the crosshead is fixed to the extension rod. The crosshead connects the small end of the connecting rod by the crosshead pin.
* Besides the F-500 mud pump that is cylindrical structure, upper and lower guide structures are used for other mud pumps so that the concentricity can be adjusted by adding space under the lower guide.
* The connection between the crosshead and the extension rod is made by using bolted flange. The rigid connection ensures the concentricity of the crosshead and the extension rod.
